Waitrose – Cashless Store

Waitrose are to be the UK’s first major supermarket brand to operate a cashless store. The store will accept credit, debit and contactless card payments as well as mobile payment methods such as Apple Pay and will be located in Sky, the broadcaster’s new head office building in Osterley.

The decision to open a cashless store has been lead by Waitress ‘convenience model’ which is driven by their desire to provide customers with more flexible options. The store will contain 5 self service checkout machines and will be accessible to the 3,500 Sky employees.
