Retailers need more women in tech jobs

More women are needed in tech positions it has been argued by Haniya Rae, a contributor to Forbes magazine.

Women account for 70-80% of all consumer purchases. However, they do not account to anywhere near that figure it terms of holding retail technology jobs despite the fact they are clearly the majority in buying the products.

Getting more women into tech jobs is a $12 trillion opportunity worldwide claimed the McKinsey & Company report.

Reshma Saujani recently noted that ‘companies want to hire more women to join their tech teams because for the most part women are their leading consumer base. Having more women involved means that the people buying their products are building their products.’
