Amazon have recently reported their eighth straight quarter of growth. In an inspiring article by Doug Stephens, he notes the amazing success of Amazon and their continued growth in a number of new markets, from their Amazon Prime and Video to their Dash Replenishment Services and Alexa Voice Service.

Stephens notes however that the beauty of Amazon is in the convenience and practicality of it. He describes it as ‘the Wikipedia of Shopping’.

He suggests that shopping remains an experience for people in public spaces and in communal gatherings and retailers should continue to appeal to consumers on a personal level as opposed to Amazon’s mass approach.
