Online shopping proved to be the biggest hit with consumers last Christmas. Retailers noticed strong performances in their online, mobile and click & collect sales whilst store footfall was relatively low.
One retailer, Debenhams, noted a 36% increase in online sales, with customers favouring placing click & collect orders to pick up their goods in store. Other stores with strong online growth were Ted Baker, John Lewis and Mothercare.
